Tuscany, Maremma above all, represents My Soul Nest: the cradle where I used and use to shield, now and then, taking a breath from the stressing paces of my life.
I arrived at Montemassi 30 years ago, riding a motorcycle, a little bit like Guidoriccio da Fogliano in the famous 13th c. painting by Simone Martini, and could not stop coming and coming over again, as often as I could.
We just fell in love with the charming ruin. Just in the heart of the village, these stone three-storey building dates back to the same age of the Castle. Each storey has got its independent entrance, at any level a small terraced garden.
The restoration was a real challenge, took ages and immense efforts, but it revealed to be worth it. The house came to a new life, we cleaned and found out all the original materials, stone, bricks, beams, old manufacts…equipped it with modern plants and comforts.
Finally I decorated it mixing up contemporary design and antiques in medieval atmosphere downstairs and “fin de siècle” in the upper apartment: my way! Renting part of my property is a way to share my sensations, a way to let people, who love unique experiences away from mass tourism and routine, explore this very special world.
Montemassi, the Medieval hamlet painted in the famous fresco of 1330 by Simone Martini, entitled “Guidoriccio da Fogliano conquering Montemassi” and preserved in the town hall of Siena.

Here I have my friends: The friends, though-rough-gentle people. They are nailed to their land and proudly love sharing the best of food, superior wines and popular poetry... Just after the hard work with land and cattles!
Other environmental heritage lies in the surroundings:
Uccellina Nature Reserve, Monterotondo Geothermal Park, Amiata, just to mention a few.
Art Cities: Massa Marittima, Siena, PIenza, Pitigliano…
Archeology: Etruscan sites: Roselle, Populonia, Vetulonia
Wine-touring and shopping? the famous Wine Cathedrals are just few kilometers drive: namely Cellars in important vineyards designed by famous architects, such as Frassinello fortress by Renzo Piano, Petra by Mario Botta, Le Mortelle by Antinori etc…
Everywhere you can taste the excellent Mediterranean cuisine, inspired by the olive oil, cheese, fish, truffles, mushrooms…
And then you can relax to the Spas: Petriolo, Saturnia, Sorano or you can have a swim in the Accesa lake, which is mysterious, fairy-like and inexplicably turquoise. And the most beautiful beaches of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Punta Ala,Castiglione, Cala Violina are only 20 minutes drive. You just have to decide on how to spend an unforgettable holiday.
